It was a quick and crazy year but the regular season has finally come to a close which means it's postseason time, particularly SEC tournament time.
My favorite to win the SEC tourney and probably everyone's favorite is LSU but who are some teams that can win it all that aren't favored to win.
I think Arkansas is the most dangerous team in the SEC tourney and will be a dangerous regional team. They have been playing some good baseball these last few weeks and can surprise people in the postseason.
As for national seeds, A&M has lost 3 of their last 5 SEC series and tied this weekend with Ole Miss so they have only won 1 of their last 5 SEC series. I think they miss a national seed but will get a 9 seed in the regionals.
I think Florida is a lock for a national seed after finishing the regular season on a high note and having FSU and A&M losing.
As for the SEC tourney, I'm taking LSU over Vanderbilt in the championship game. Enjoy a great week of SEC baseball everybody.

Aggies will miss Omaha. LSU and Arkansas make it if they aren't matched along with Florida. I'm just not sold on Vanderbilt. Louisville, UCLA, Illinois, Louisville, and Missouri state.

That's my picks. Not that it matters

We limped across the finish line. I don't know what we can do to pull it together.

It's a streaky sport. Yall have a top 8 team but baseball is weird. Would be interesting to see a lot of sec teams but three is the most I can see.

We were missing our two best pitchers the entire year. Have a good club but we aren't national seed material, although we still have a very good shot at one.

Still to this day have no idea how yall started 24-0 without them. Damn good lineup is the main reason. I think it's finally hit yall.

I just keep hoping my Gamecocks catch fire at just the right time.

I remember Cal State Fullerton limping into the post season, getting hot and then eliminating us from the CWS before beating Texas for the championship in 2004.

They were given-up for dead and ready to fire their coach before they won their conference tourney and earned their way into the post season where they made a historic run to the title.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a similar run by the Gamecocks .... but it's a long shot.

I think LSU Vanderbilt and Arkansas make it it Omaha. Texas A&M loses in the regionals because well it's A&M. And Florida is a year away.

there's always 1 or 2 late season hot teams that make it

it's just the nature of the game

kind of what makes it so much fun IMO

Technically it's the sequel 2010 but either one is great.

I think A&M is still very dangerous despite hitting a rough patch of late, and I wouldn't count Vandy out either. Their top two starters are very good, especially Fulmer. They're going to be a tough matchup on starting pitching alone.

That said, it'd be hard to pick against LSU the way they've been playing ever since the Kentucky series.

Is this the final installment of your weekly assessments/analysis, or will you be doing another one after the conference tournaments/regionals/supers?

I've enjoyed reading these the past few weeks and checked the rant a few times Sunday to see if you'd posted it.

Sadly, I tend to agree. Objectively speaking, right now UF's a very good team but not a championship team yet and I just don't know if the team survives the push to the CWS this year. We have a lot of sophomores right now with some freshman talent sprinkled in that sets up for next year. But still, I'd put us up against anyone anyday so I still like our chances this year.

Right now it's LSU's to lose in my eyes. They're just really good. You have to quiet their bats to have a shot to win and I just don't see them losing twice once they get to SR and tCWS.

Arkansas is hot for sure and has been for about 8-9 weeks now.

I'd like to see us go 2-2 in the SEC tourney, get home and rest, then take care of biz at Mo State.

I'd imagine that we would have to win a few games in Hoover to make it in as an at-large bid. For sure, if we lose to Missouri, the season is over.

I'll probably do one more before the regionals and give a bunch of predictions and stuff
