If you lumped the two conferences together, I think it would come out as:

Tier 1
Alabama

Tier 2
Ohio State
Penn State
Michigan
Wisconsin

TIer 3
LSU
Auburn
Florida

Tier 4
Tennessee
Georgia
Iowa
Nebraska
Minnesota
Texas a&m

Tier 5
Kentucky
South Carolina
Vanderbilt
Arkansas
Mississippi State
Ole Miss
Indiana
Maryland
Northwestern

Tier 6
Missouri
Purdue
Illinois
Rutgers
Michigan State

SEC wasn't down in 2016. It was Alabama and 13 others beating up on each other, in my mind.

And you would be wrong again. The SEC was definitely down this year. ACC was a better conference. Alabama was the best. The rest of the SEC was hot garbage.

Not sure what the shot about Georgia is about. We have had some very good teams....even recently. 2012, we didn't win the SEC, but was dangerously close to winning the National Championship.

Yeah, but every team in the country didn't get their brains beat out on the national stage, so there's that.

SEC was down this year with a number of new coaches and new QBs. Yet we were still good enough to be in the conversation of best conference and have a team still playing. That should really scare the rest of college football. The SEC as a whole should improve next year. Don't bury us just yet.
