I responded to you directly, but I shouldn't have.
My comments should've been directed at Stonehog--whose posts I typically ignore, but sometimes jump into a thread before I realize whom the author is.
Your OP was legit; and as the Mizzou fan said, schools often pay out for the purpose of showing commitment to their guy/keeping him.
Which is exactly what our university did with Sumlin (when others came sniffing around).
Inevitably, however, some sarcastic malcontent jumps into this discussion (e.g., Stonehog).
Allow me to apologize to you for coming across as an arse. That was not my intent.

It appears we are getting pretty good bang for our buck with Richt.

A million dollars "a win" is what he's making.

Freeze is worth every penny and anyone who laughs at that is a moron.

Don't try to explain that to the aggys. They simply do not understand this concept.

Other than Saban, Georgia no doubt is getting the most for their mone
I'd say there is some doubt. Miles has a slightly better winning percentage than M.R., coming in a distant second to Saban's remarkable 82% with 70%. Throw in the extra titles and I'd say Miles is right there with Richt for 2nd place in the SEC as for as dollar value. If you want to nitpick, Miles and Richt both achieve more wins per dollar spent than Nick. But Nick is worth every penny IMO.

That's right they are tied. It is Stoops at OU that makes more:

Either way Summy is earning his money.

What does a five year old article have to do with anything?

Surprised Richt is that low with his longevity.

Also interesting that 6 coaches are under .500 in conference play.
How is that interesting? Sec coaches combined conference win % is .500 every year.
