You are just jealous because UGA is cheap as shite when it comes to facilities.

I think describing Clemson's facilities as 'SEC caliber' is just about marketing the SEC. lol what does it have to do with the SEC.

Describing Clemson's facilities as SEC Caliber is what allowed me to start a thread about Clemson's facilities on the SEC Rant.

You're welcome, pipsqueak.

Underrated actually. Growing on the research front. Brand new science and engineering facilities.

why do you think I wanted a thread about Clemson facilities? lol

I think the amount of money spent on athletic facilities to impress 17 year olds is absurd. I don't get why it is ok for schools to splurge on facilities to attract recruits but giving a recruit a ride or buying them a 5 dollar meal at McDonalds is a recruiting violation.

you guys are always starting Clemson threads anyway.

it is crazy how so many Bama and Auburn people leave there to take a job at lil ol Clemson.

Why? Dabo was part of Dubose's staff fired at Alabama in 2000. His old WR coach at Alabama, Tommy Bowden, hired him at Clemson. Now a bunch of former teammates and assistants at Alabama during the Stallings years are with him at Clemson. Not really surprising.

What's surprising is how Clemson has seemingly only had success when an Alabama or Auburn grad is leading program.

A&M got the engr facilities on lock too.

This facility will be the largest academic building on campus (large enough for two Boeing 747s placed end to end.) and unlike any other facility in the nation. The 525,000 sq. ft. education complex completely modernizes the original Zachry Engineering Center and expands the facility to include a state-of-the-art Engineering Design Center.

Here is the reason Clemson is aping Alabama. They want to stay on top of the gay-tiger pile.

i'm not sure why Alabama and Auburn get credit for what coaches do after they leave to coach elsewhere. Does Auburn, LSU and Alabama credit Clemson for Kevin Steele? lol

success for Clemson as defined by a lot of people seems to be national title. anything less is a failure. lol

Clemson never won an ACC title with Bowden, an Alabama guy. We did win one with the guy who left Arkansas to coach after Danny Ford was forced out. And I believe other coaches not from Bama have won the ACC.

No one is taking credit. It's just insanely odd that Clemson has had like SIX head coaches that played or were a long term assistant at Alabama.

Even your precious rock was started by an Alabama grad.

I don't think anybody ever said the rock was precious. lol

it is a typical hokey college tradition

it is crazy that you know so much about Clemson history that you even know the guy who came up with the idea to get a rock from Death Valley in Cali is an Alabama grad. lol I didn't even know that and I'm a Clemson guy.

Clemson isn't that far from Bama so it isn't really that odd. Auburn and Clemson are both about the same distance from Atlanta.

The first Auburn guy to leave for Clemson was Walter Riggs and he grew up in SC. I think he wanted to help his home state university which had not existed long before he arrived. He then lured Heisman from Auburn to Clemson somehow. If not for his relationship with Heisman at Auburn, that probably never happens.

Agree 100%. Colossal waste of money that could be spent on a million better things at each of these schools.

I would guess for the 2018 or 2019 season. It's pretty low on the priority of fundraising and construction. We have the new bball video board, new track stadium, new softball stadium, and additions to BBP all underway or will be in the next few years.

No solid timeline yet, raising the money as we speak. Lots of enthusiasm for it though, I expect the money will come easily.

What kind of fan wouldn't know the history behind the man who the rock is named after? It's one of the most well known, unique traditions in all of college athletics. Howard's Rock...

That would be like a Bama fan not knowing where Bear Bryant came from.
