No it made a lot of sense a few years back. But nowadays it doesn't make any sense at all. Even more so, it shows pure laziness to try to cross the term over into CBB. When it's origins have absolutely nothing to do with CBB.

it never made any sense at all, it it just a dumb thing people hear and repeat.
it probably started with gamecock fans who root for the biggest loser program in football
u won't eer hear about gamecocking b/c nobody expects them to win. but why not, why do people expect clemson to win but not sc.

i did want clemson to win simply b/c i went there.
clemson acc champs nobody remebers regional champs means nothing
SC was in an easy reigion and lost to Rhode Island who i doubt is as goo as OSU. they beat UNC-Wlmington, RI and Duke to go to superreigional. clemson beat duke too, no biggie
