probably has more to do with fact SC was an independent at the time and Clemson was one of the original members of the ACC.
plus, SC was a much bigger university. Clemson may have still been a male only m ilitary school.

We pretty much play in the SEC. We are going to be in the playoffs 3 out of every 4 years. By that time all SEC fans are humping Saban's nutsack and riding on his bandwagon so we are pretty much playing the entire SEC fanbase. The insecurities run deep in the SEC East, you must latch on to Saban and Bama to feed the fantasy world you have created for yourselves. Cock fans talk about how their division is so hard and the ACC is so shitty but when they go to play an ACC team you get your shite kicked in. Remember how pumped you guys were and how much shite you were talking after you beat Lyle? I remember some Bentley for Heismen chirping. Much respect to the LSU fans and the Auburn fans who have not jumped on the bandwagon and taken a seat in line to stimulate Saban's genitals.
