Clearing up the confusion and misinformation on drug testing rules

There are two seperate types of drug test you can take as an Ncaa athlete: a university test and an NCAA test. Schools are not required to have their own testing; however, if they do have their own testing policy they are forced to adhere to it. So, for example, when Tabor refused to take his test and was suspended one only game, it was clear he refused a UF test.

Most schools policies are a three strike tiered process

The NCAA testing is one strike and you are out for a calendar year, that is what Greir failed. If he refused the test, he would still be out for a year. McElwain also has no say since this was an NCAA test
