My guess is that this is the gist of things...pretty entertaining and informative (assuming at least some of it is accurate).

My question is how someone who hasn't been in the College Football game for 10 years and has never run an Athletic Department supposed to be even remotely competent at an AD's job?

(as I type that I think about the recently canned AD and start to shrug my shoulders)

The Haslams not wanting Gruden thing just doesn't make any sense. I get that you think you are top dog and you want people to respect that but if you're such a big time booster isn't the ultimate goal to win? You're going to turn down a top level coach and go with a nobody just cause you want to control the guy?

I bet a lot of big time booster at Alabama were pissed the first time Saban told them to frick off he was running things now. Bet those same boosters would kiss his arse now to keep him happy.

My wild guess, HC Les Miles to the recuse. He's Fulmer's boy. tenny will be better for this mess after several bad years.

Clay lays-out the power play pretty well. There had to be some blood spilled.

If this is true (which I don't doubt) it is because Gruden wants completely control of the program. Haslam's wanted a yes man.

I'm not a big Travis fan but this is worth a listen. He's telling the straight up truth in this.

Sounds like the Haslams are pure cancer.

One thing about Fulmer, he loves his alma mater. It's one of the things that made his games with Spurrier so intriguing.

UT needs Fulmer to be AD and Les Miles is probably the best coach possible for them at this time, especially if they can get Tee Martin to come over as the OC and perhaps coach in waiting.

Big nugget in that story is Peyton joining Jimmy Haslam's side in exchange for his promise to help the Mannings get an NFL franchise. Vols fans' beloved Peyton siding with the bad guys for his own interests, with little regard for UT's well being -- YIKES!

Hope Clay doesn't have skeletons in his closet, he's poking at some billionaires that will dig them up and try to publicly shame him.

This would only serve as validation that he's hitting nerves with these guys.

Or the Haslams making terrible hire after terrible hire, with plans to make a similar hire caused this. Schiano was another Butch in the making

Exactly. I don't understand the sentiment of omg Tennessee fans and Clay Travis caused this! They are awful! fricking right they caused this who would want Greg Shiano as their head football coach? What would LSU's reaction have been if Alleva had hired him last fall?
