Kelly would be a terrible hire. You'll be doing this again next yr. someone brought up the Stanford OC on Tide1029 and I like that idea.

Kelly's offense would put Saban's defense on the field for way too many snaps. And look what that meant to Clemson's offense. I find it odd that Sark & Saban were not able to work out any kinks while Sark was acting as a consultant, both knowing each other's preferences by the time LK moved on.

Fact is, it really doesn't matter why he left. He's just yesterday's news now. Bama will still be the favorite to win the SEC and National Championships. Saban could have a scarecrow on the sideline with headphones on and that wouldn't change.

No offense TD, thanks for the update.

Fla. State may have something to say about being favored to win the NC, especially as bama opens up the season with the Noles. Potentially putting them in the middle of a 2 game losing streak in 2017. To ACC teams.

you only do that after 3 in a row but Kelly would be a terrible hire. You'll be doing this again next yr. someone brought up the Stanford OC on Tide1029 and I like that idea.

Well, things could change in the off season but Bama is favored to win the NC right now.

Does anybody else think that if Kelly were hired, we'd be doing this again after next year?

That article reads like an amateur. It made me cringe several times.

I'm still trying to figure out the board's consensus opinion about Bama hiring Kelly.

Texans offensive coordinator George Godsey is another former Belichick disciple who would be a good fit and has worked well with OL coach Brent Key.

I'm baffled at why anyone would want Godsey. He's not proven he can run a good offense. Saban doesn't need a Belichick disciple just for the sake of having one. He's half Belichick disciple himself. And for a "QB guru," he's certainly made a decent QB or two look pretty bad.
