Chizik did not offer any kind words about Oregon or the SEC. He said they were the best team in the NCAA. IMO this denotes a lack of class or intelligence.

Will be interesting to see how he does next year without CM.

Actually he said they were the best football team in America. The NFL needs to close shop now.

Just because their payroll is higher doesn't mean they're better than NFL teams.

It gives me this warm feeling inside to know this hurts you guys so much. Hey... you can always hope they take it away Keep holdin out for that moral victory!

Before I make my wise-arse crack, I did actually root for Auburn last night...

... as opposed to an immoral one?

Well, I think you're now coming to the realization of the ramifications around all the P4P fallout. Note, I genuinely think Auburn fans are as much the victim in this nonsense as everyone else because you guys simply love your University and its' associated team. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

However, it's not just this board and the people who post on it. Read the following from ESPN:

LINK

Key quote:

quote:

It was a game of ethical flinches. Watching Cam Newton get a confetti bath did not qualify as the feel-good moment of the season for anyone other than title-starved Tigers fans and greedy Southeastern Conference backers, who will keep the crystal football in their neighborhood for an unprecedented fifth straight season. The Auburn quarterback withstood an interception, a lost fumble and a wince-inducing back injury to flash one more winner's smile.

"I don't want nobody to feel sorry for me, because throughout this year didn't nobody feel sorry for Auburn," Newton said, setting a BCS record for double negatives in a single sentence. "We got the last laugh."

Maybe not the very last laugh. The lingering question is whether Auburn has its hardware only on loan. An ongoing NCAA investigation, spurred by findings that Newton's father tried to sell his son's quarterbacking services to Mississippi State, could one day result in the school's first title in 53 years being vacated.

Like it or not, the way this was handled and managed by the SEC and NCAA, this stigma is going to follow this title until there is some final resolution which, given the NCAA, could be years out in the future. Just don't be mad at ESPN, folks on the board, etc, direct your ire at the NCAA, Cecil Newton, potentially Bobby Lowder and all the people who have put Auburn in this position in the first place. THOSE are the people Auburn fans need to be pissed off with.

Not if Auburn gets 14 free points. You all are cheap on many, many levels from players to coaches to refs to fans. I have a new team to hate is the SEC.

I think this is a moment of clarity for college football. For the past 10 years people have been talking about seeing teams win it on the field. Does anyone consider Southern Cal not the national championship team because Bush's family took money from an agent? Of course not. Everyone knows who won that game, it doesn't matter the title was vacated.

Likewise last night proved that no matter what else happens, the only thing that matters is winning. It's not the "how" it's the "W" that counts. Whatever else happens with the allegations, etc does nothing to dispel the new normal - winning is everything, no matter what else.
