AUBURN -- Auburn head coaches Tony Barbee and Gene Chizik along with Tiger greats in All-American Charles Barkley, Heisman Trophy winners Bo Jackson and Pat Sullivan as well as Al Del Greco and Stan White will participate in the Regions Charity Classic Pro-Am on Thursday at Ross Bridge in Hoover, Ala.

Barbee will tee off the No. 1 tee at 8:50 am with Barkley, Sullivan, Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin and Rick Karle. Chizik and Bo Jackson will participate in a putting challenge against Alabama's Jay Barker and Anthony Grant at 9:30 am on the practice putting green.

"I am excited to be playing in the tournament with two Auburn legends who mean so much to this school," said Barbee. "Playing alongside Charles Barkley and what he means to our basketball program and this university is going to be exciting," said Barbee.

"Playing with Pat Sullivan, a Heisman Trophy winner, and Corey Pavin is exciting as well. I am a huge golf fan and watching him as a pro over the years in the success that he has had. I just hope all the fans wear helmets if they are standing on the side watching me swing."

The Regions Charity Classic benefits Children's Hospital while Chizik and Jackson will be playing for the Plus Scholarship Fund. The winning team in the putting contest has $7500 donated to its charity while the other team has $2500 donated to its charity.

"I'm looking forward to teaming with Bo in this worthwhile charitable cause," Chizik said. "We had a great time last year and are excited to be returning this year."

White tees off at 8:20 am with pro Peter Jacobsen, Del Greco is paired with Hale Irwin at 12:10 pm and Jackson is with Hal Sutton at 12:30 pm.

"I am a true believer in the Children's Hospital and all of the wonderful care it gives for children as well as the comfort the hospital gives to the families. Children's Hospital is the real winner of this golf tournament, and I am just happy that I can be a part of it."

I think it's Taylor Hicks instead of Taylor Swift.

I'd love to see all the SEC HC's participate in a stroke play event during a dead period in recruiting, for charity (assuming all of them play golf). I wonder who would win such an event?

not les miles. he would get lost around hole 2 or so.

meyer would quit in the middle of the round and then return before 18.

dooley plays from the kids tees.

id say nutt wins it just to spite the big 12 fans

ill give meyer credit at least he would go back to the course.

if petrino was an sec coach and in this event he would leave the course and go to another one.

chiz would not be allowed on the course bc of attire and saban would be banging the drink girls instead of playing.

I'd have to go with Spurrier ftw, seeing as he has all that practice at Augusta going for him.
