its almost like going 11-2 year in and year out will always put you in the playoff discussion and will give you the opportunity to make the playoffs the years you go 12-1 instead of 11-2

Auburn actually had a running game, sweets.

Oregon rushed for 4000+ yards in each of Kelly's last 2 years.

Kelly would have to adjust a few things if he wanted to compete to win SEC titles. #1, the size of his linemen. I don't think you can win in our league with the type of player they recruited and built on the lines at Oregon.

However, he's a smart guy. He understands this. My guess is he's been sitting around thinking about these types of things (if he's considering college) every minute of every day since he left San Francisco.

So a guy who hates dealing with boosters is going to go to a Texas school where those folks are everywhere. Seems completely believable.

and he has more access to guys like that now that he will be at a school in the state of texas. its hard to go into california and take big time names away from UCLA and USC. its hard to go into texas and take big time names away from UT, LSU, bama, OU, and A&M. he can have more success at doing so while at A&M

if anything, the only thing i worry is how he would respond to both recruiting in texas and dealing with some boosters since its pretty well known he hates both

Yea, and recruiting. He famously and openly hates recruiting. I'm not sure the hell you can be that way and be a head coach in the SEC in a state like Texas battling LSU, Alabama, re-energized Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, etc for kids.

The Pac 10 was garbage when Chip Kelly was head coach... Pete Carroll left for the NFL and left USC in not the greatest of situations. I do believe Chip Kelly is a pretty good coach... but he isn't the second coming of Nick Saban or Dan Mullen.

Kelly's defenses would be similar to the current A&M defenses. They'd be athletic, have some players, but unless he hired a guy who could blend his scheme with the spread (Brent Venablesish), then they'd have issues with good, power rush offenses like they do now. Just like they did at Oregon.

They were front-runners. They ran up leads then unleashed their pass rushers and created turnovers. They were famously mauled at the lines in games in which their offense was slowed down and their defense was not very effective.

The #34 total defense and #12 scoring defense NATIONALLY is shitty? (That is their 2010 ratings...the season they held Auburn to 22 points in the title game)

No. Dave Aranda will after Kelly hires him away from LSU.

Who would be above Kelly in the SEC other than Saban?

Malzahn for one.

So Kelly coached in a weaker conference than the SEC. His teams had trouble with teams that were physical and fast. #2? Nah.
