I was shocked when I figured this out after the LSU game last year. Hell, I left Kyle via the field, it was pretty neat.

Lots of Aggie things make 0 sense to me, but the Band is bad to the bone, and cool as shite to watch.

OT: Ya'lls students at least acknowledge the existence of opposing fans in your section. I was treated as if I didn't exist, until someone finally made a comment after I celebrated Hill's run. Told him I got my ticket from one of his 2%er friends, and to take my presence up with him.

Excellence through torture
And I mean no disrespect either, dear BQ buddies. Please don't blow up my house.

Speaking of that, I was clearing out some closet space recently and found my company's SOP. I guess those aren't really "traditions", but if you have yours you'll want to hang on to it, as it gets funnier with time. I clearly recall my sister visiting during my fish year and seeing the Ross Volunteers practicing outside my window.
"Who are those guys?"
"What are you talking about?"
"THOSE guys, right out there?"
"I don't see anything."
"THEY'RE RIGHT THERE!"
"I can't see through windows. And even if I could, I couldn't see those guys."
"Ya'll are weird."
"Yes. Yes we are."

I had similar conversations, just like most other fish on the Quad

The band never ceases to amaze me. Not sure what routine they did for that game but "The Four Way Cross" they do is still my favorite. The marching simulators will say this among other marches they do are actually impossible.

Here's the Ole Miss drill

The 4 way cross is also my favorite Pretty sure they did that one for the Cotton Bowl and for senior night at Kyle Field against Mizzou last year

Of course it is, how could it not be? Every time I see that I'm mesmerized. It would be so easy to screw up with just one guy tripping and the whole thing coming down like a house of cards, but they always nail it.

they went hard for Ole Miss! Badass stuff as always

The four way cross always makes me nervous when they get close...will it be the one time they mess up? will someones hat fall off and everyone wait to see how that plays out?

No worry, Texas fans have been calling us Nazis and "Hitler Youth" for decades

The irony of course being that their school has a much more infamous history of racism and "Nazi shite" than ours does.

What am I missing here? Isn't there a SEC rule saying that fans are not allowed on the field?

update: Here's an article from the Clarion-Ledger talking about it last year:

SEC will look at Saturday’s field-storming

As a long-dead BQ, I can say that you can tell who designed the drill by the way it plays out:

If Dr (MAJ) Rhea did the drill, look for a lot of individual assignments and a very complicated series of motions in small groups.

If LTC Brewer did the drill, look for a lot of "chevron", "w" and "follow the leader" drills.

If the drum majors designed the drill, it likely has the 4-way cross through and something complicated with the block T. The drum majors my senior year combined a 4-way crossthrough with a "double barrel" crossthrough, then because it was the bonfire game, we marched off the field in a silent block T.

Not sure about the other guys and frankly I don't give a shite.

On a somewhat related note if you like band or drill performances, try to go to a Friday Evening parade at USMC Barracks (8th & I)in DC during the summer. The USMC Band and Silent Drill Team perform and it is a very good "date night" if you have a SO.

My kids and I rely enjoyed going down on the field after the LSU game last year. Was pretty cool to do.

Had to keep your head in a swivel due to all the footballs being thrown around.
