Depends. Do you still get beat down by a team like Memphis?

Last year he never looked like the best QB in the SEC, that honor went to Prescott.

I don't put Memphis or Arkansas on Kelly. He played well enough to win in both games.

By that standard, Brandon Harris played well enough as well. Hard to win a game if the D allows 30+ points.

Most normal people tie QB play to offensive performance. Not defensive.

But since you insist on posting in every Ole Miss thread ever started, I'm sure that was just the first idiotic thing that popped into your head.

Two of Harris' worst three games were wins. He wasn't awful against OM or Arkansas.

If the D can't stop anybody and you can't score on 4th down from the goalline you've got bigger problems than quarterback.

Only an OM fan would think allowing an opponent to score 30+ points means "good defense". But then I'm not shocked that an OM fan doesn't understand football.

And this is a Chad Kelly thread not an Ole Miss thread. I get that your reading comprehension is on a 2nd grade level so I will let it pass.

The problem with what people are claiming about the Alabama game is that while he got lucky and the pass ended up as a TD, it was a terrible decision on his part to make that throw.

The results may count on the scoreboard, but when it comes time to evaluating the QB, it's a huge negative.

Also got lucky on the pop pass for a TD as well. Not only for barely being behind the line, or for the lineman downfield, but because it was really a blown coverage play.

The other scores as I recall came with short field position as Alabama shot itself in the foot repeatedly.

It's not as if he was picking apart the defense.

So yeah, on the scoreboard it was a W, but don't ask me to be impressed with your QB because of it. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, but let's not confuse the 2.

5 turnovers and only won by 6 is all you really need to say. How many times can a team turn the ball over that often and still barely lose? It's not often.

They should create a stat called "unforced turnovers" just based on the last two OM/Bama games.

Last year was the third most yards ever put up by a player in the SEC. But nah. He wasn't that good or the best QB in the SEC

That's nice but he still wasn't as good as Prescott. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Prescott put up numbers every bit as good on a team that had a revolving door on the OLine. Let's see how old AK does this year without the highest paid OT in college.

Dak is literally the best preseason NFL quarterback in existence. That's not a fair comparison.

But was Chad Kelly better than any quarterback that LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and Texas A&M have had in the past 10 years? Probably.

Yeah a JUCO QB in his first year at a school only put up the 3rd most passing yards in SEC history because of one OT that only played in the last 6 games.
