The get in the door price has dropped from around $2000 to around $1400. Also a lot of the premium seats that had prices of around $10,000 have dropped in some cases by thousands. There is a lower club midfield section seat for as low as $2800 right now. Earlier this week $2800 got you in the uppers.

I would be ticked if I spent 20 grand on a premium ticket and could now get for 6 or 7k less.

I think if someone has 20 grand to drop on tickets for the NCG, then they ain't really all that worried about the price drop

Knew some folks who sold lower bowl tix for $6k each a couple days ago, they are pretty stoked

Damn do I regret not buying into the seats at the new MB stadium.

I don't think the normal-folk MBS PSL/season-ticket holders get any rights to CFPCG, Final Four, or Super Bowl tickets.

Yeah, the PSL's have driven up secondary market cost on these games. During the SEC CG, a significant number of the PSL seats were empty, because they refused to accepted lower offers. A guy in my office complex wanted $3k each, simply because he had paid a $90k PSL. He thought he was owed that much, since he spent that much on a PSL, wouldnt take anything less.

I've noticed the same thing. Tickets that were going for $1900 on Vividseats the other day are now $1200. Someone that went to the game last year told me before the game, tickets were going for $5K and by kickoff the same seats were $600.

Last minute scalping could be interesting for this game since there are hundreds of thousands of Georgia fans and thousands of Alabama fans that could just drive over to the stadium last minute and see what's up pretty easily.

Well no shite. People simply aren't going to pay those idiotic prices. It's one thing to ask a price for something and gauge interest, it's another to get what you're asking. These prices will drop significantly. You start crazy high and drop until people actually buy tickets. Hell, I could ask a million for a ticket, that doesn't mean thats realistically what it's worth or what I'm going to actually get. People are fricking stupid and don't know business, period.

Last year was different - tickets skyrocketed day of game and people outside the stadium were paying $2,000 plus. Its really hard to predict which way it will go. I got lucky and someone sold me a face value ticket last year. Year before i saw ticket prices bottoming out on stubhub and jumped an early morning flight to phoenix.

Think i'm staying home this year. Too cold for all that traveling / tailgating for me and I'm exhausted from the weekend / sugar bowl still.

Why do you assume people are stupid and don't understand this? Sounds like people are actually behaving in line with the economic theory you have laid out.

Actually thousands of tickets have already sold on Stubhub for those "idiotic prices" Right after the Georgia win, the cheapest tickets were bought up from $2000 to about $2700 before more supply kicked in yesterday and today.

I can't speak for all PSL holders but I have a PSL and know several others that do as well and we get zero access to the games you mentioned so I doubt it has much to do with the market.

Not surprising, people were trying to get top dollar for them before and only a few were moving, as we get closer to the game they'll continue to fall.

I doubt they get below 1k but if someone is willing to wait till Sat/Sun/Mon to buy a ticket they'll be semi-reasonable.

They had to drop, there just aren't many people willing to pay 4 figures for tickets to a football game

Sounds like fans from outside the area expected a different matchup and are now selling the tickets for whatever they can get for them.
