I guess this question is aimed specifically at Alabama fans, seeing as none of the rest of us have had the opportunity to participate. Do any of y'all know what the face value price of your tickets were for both of the games and also the face value for any student tickets? I'm just trying to figure out a budget so that if LSU ends up making it I can afford it and have the finances planned out ahead of time.

Don't know about student prices.
For Dallas SemiFinal - $140 upper deck, $240 lower level.
For Phoenix
Upper Deck $450, Lower Level $550, Club $650
Honestly, it's hard to project what the prices will be in 20 years though. Best of luck saving up the money.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure "student ticket pricing" doesn't apply to non home games.
IOW...regardless if you're a student or not, any game not at Tiger Stadium you're going ot have to pay the regular face value of the ticket.

Tickets were easy to come by. Way cheaper than BCS bowls. But flights and lodging seemed to be higher for Phoenix than other sites.

Tickets were extremely easy to get for the championship game, could get them at face value a few days before the game.
Holding the title game just a week or so after the bowl games, the fan bases are tapped out.
It's hard to book a flight, hotel, buy tickets, all that jazz in such a short period of time.

That's actually not true. The Cowboys Classic offers student rates but those are limited so a lot of students end up not qualifying for that and end up having to get tickets for full price as well. Lambeau field is also offering a student rate. The SEC championship game also offers a student rate. I'm also pretty sure Taco Bell sponsors a "student section" at the CFP games but I'm just not exactly sure of the specifics on that one.

The national championship game last year was 450 for upper level.
There are no "student" packages. What I think may have happened with Clemson is they school bought tix and sold them at a loss to some students but they do not sell "student" tickets.
I fully expect these will be in the thousand dollar range in 5 years.
Hotels went for about the price of a ticket a night and flights were, well, we laid down about 1600 for round trip. Between the hotel and airfare, rental car, over 2 grand. tix were another grand.

Tickets were going for face value and under the week of the game.
I bought my tickets for the Cotton Bowl under face value.

Wow. I've already got a hotel locked down in Tampa about 15 minutes walk from the stadium for about $250 total (fully refundable up until the night before) and I can get tickets out of MSY for 300 round trip. I may go ahead and just get them and go to the game no matter what. If LSU ends up playing then I bet and won, if they don't, I still get to go to the national championship for around $1000 after I include tickets.
