... since 2009

That's a winning percentage of just 12.1%

Of the 26 teams to beat ranked teams from the SEC West since 2009...
*7 went on to finish the season in the Top 5
*11 went on to finish the season in the Top 10
*16 went on to finish the season in the Top 15
*20 went on to finish the season in the Top 25

The only teams to beat ranked SEC West teams that went on to not finish in the Top 25 themselves were the following:

2009 South Carolina (who beat Ole Miss)
2012 La-Monroe (who beat Arkansas)
2013 Georgia (who beat LSU)
2014 Notre Dame (who beat LSU)
2015 Toledo (who beat Arkansas)
2015 Memphis (who beat Ole Miss)

Needless to say, its tough to beat a ranked SEC West team. Typically, you've got to be really good yourself to have a shot.

That is some pretty obscure shite right there. Can we get something to compare it to por favor?

Not doubting you awesome statisticalness, just wanting a compass for reference to give the proper reverence.

It would be even better if took out LSU's 2 losses when Miles was their coach. Apparently, that is how they like their stats. I wish I knew where to find those stats.

Let's look at the East this year.

Tennessee has lost 2 times while ranked
Georgia has lost 1 time (outside the East) while ranked
Florida has not lost outside the East.
Anyone else ranked?

Is that actually a good stat, though? I'd want to see comparative stats from other conferences and divisions, because, at least prior to bowl season, most teams only play one, or maybe two, strong OOC games. So a ranked team is likely to be favored against most opponents. It would be helpful to find out if, say, teams were 50% against ranked ACC Coastal (or whatever).

Let him do a comparison to the East over the same time period and I am guessing it will not look good for the East.

Probably if it were markedly worse, which I doubt it is, would be because of the last week's rivalry games. Mostly wins for the ranked teams come against OOC cupcakes.

CFB's record against ranked teams from the SEC West since 2009: 26-189 (12.1%)
CFB's record against ranked teams from the SEC East since 2009: 40-89 (31.0%)

A record for any set of teams against ranked teams is typically going to be well under 50%..... 12% is unbelievably low.

That's a winning percentage of just 12.1%

The winning percentage stat looks impressive, but to me the more impressive stat is that there have been 215 games involving ranked SEC West teams playing teams not in the SEC West.

Of the 28 conference, divisions that have existed since 2009, that winning percentage is 6th smallest.
