SEC should fall something like this IMO

3. Auburn
7. Bama
11. UGA
14. Ole Miss
15. LSU
16. A&M
17. Arkansas
20. Missouri
25. Tennessee

Maybe...but I wouldn't have any SEC team in the pre-season top 5. I think Auburn's D improves next year, but there'll be a another scheme change and I think it'll take Muschamp some time to get it fully installed. Bama loses a lot of starters, particularly on offense, and we still remain vulnerable to the spread...

Just based on how the teams finished the season, and what they have returning, I'd probably have UGA as the highest ranked SEC team...think we'll know a lot more after the first couple of games of the season, at least for Bama, Auburn, aTm, and SCe as they all have tough opening games...and for Tennessee as they host OU during week 2...

We return a lot of talented starters and have great depth, but lose leadership on the defense and our quarterback. While Bo had his "Road Bo" moments, he also had his "Home Bo" moments. Anytime you lose a QB in this league, unless you're replacing him with Cameron Newton, you're gonna take some lumps.

With that said, I'm glad we're ranked so high in the preseason, but I think, truthfully, we should be ranked anywhere from #13 - #15.

I don't get why Ole Miss is rated so highly by all of these preseason rankings. Ridiculous! They are top 20 at best!

Because the people who put these things together look at the roster, and returning players at key positions and other shite like that. delusional Arkansas and LSU fans look at 30-0 and 10-7 as if that has any relevance concerning next season.

Alabama was pretty fricking good. SEC champions and made the playoff. They weren't the juggernaut of past teams but no one in the country was great this year. If Alabama wasn't good then the rest of the country has a looong way to go.

I said not great. I guess it is relative. Anyway, Alabama was a good but not great, or great but not elite team. Ole Miss beat them when they weren't even to that level yet.

What a weird opinion. Bama loses by 7 to an Ohio State team that blows out Oregon to win the national title, but they were "not great?"

I'm really having a hard time following the logic.

That is because you are using transitive property logic when talking about college football. That is just dumb and doesn't work.

And yes, LSU is a bit too high for the question marks at this point in time. 20-22 would be more accurate.

Without decent QB play, LSU is not #9.

All these idiot pundits are tired of the rest of the nation crying SEC Bias, so when they get a chance they put out polls with no SEC teams in the top 8, because they can get away with the rationale, even though the jack azzez don't believe what they are writing.

OU should tell us a lot about the team Tennessee has fielded - a close loss or win shows progress. Since Dobbs has taken over and shown what he's capable of (not that every QB always does what they're capable of but damn his potential is unreal) that game has gone from a likely loss to a very winnable game in my eyes.

I was about to say that some things would be settled early but I just saw where our game against UF is back in it's usual spot and UGA isn't until Oct. 10 -- Arky is wedged in between those two which is a bit odd but it seems the schedule makers keep changing things around with expansion effecting things.

Actually now that I look at it, nothing about our schedule other than Bama and Vandy is in its normal place (playing Kentucky after Bama is flat out weird).

Also, never underestimate Tennessee's ability to lose to Florida even in games we should win - it won't tell us much about Florida if they should beat us early but it will tell us about UT if we should lose that game.
