CBS picked Bama at A&M for Primetime...

But how many of you will likely be watching LSU at Kentucky instead? IMO, it should be a competitive game. Throw in the Coach O on the hot seat factor, and I think it will be one of the more intriguing games of the weekend.
Would not be surprised to see this turn out to be the lowest scoring CBS Primetime game in a very, very long time.
Since 2011, the CBS primetime game has brought in between 9 and 12 million viewers all but twice... one time on the low end of that window, and once on the high end.
If Alabama vs. A&M doesn't get at least 9 million viewers, it will be a massive failure on CBS's part.

Yeah but to be fair, the game was set before the season started. I don't think anyone expected A&M to enter this game with two losses.

Terrible choice sure but what would have been better this year given UGA and Bama don't play in the regular season?

Hopefully we run in to this situation more often under the ESPN deal. I want more guaranteed night games for teams, even if it’s not the “best” matchup.

It should be a lesson to all.
Bad shite happens when you bet on Aggie to be great.

I think there was a time before the season started that most believed this would be a top 5 matchup. I wonder if CBS had to choose their primetime game before the season, and if they were just stuck with it?

More proof that CBS loves domination gay porn.

No one expected A&M to crater like they have. They were supposed to be a playoff contender. Losses to Arkansas and State? Not even on the radar in the preseason. I expected this to be our toughest game of the year.

True. But CBS also made a mistake in assuming after A&M lost to Arky that they'd for sure beat Mississippi State. Had they known the Aggies would blow it against State at home, they very well might have chosen Georgia at Auburn instead. Should have kept that open as a possibility, but instead they used their 6-day option for the 2:30 game instead.

Pretty sure their 2 doubleheader weekends are decided before the season, but not sure on which game to air. And yeah, prior to the season, this was expected to be a top-10 matchup, at worst, so it made sense at the time to pick it if they had to do so before the season.
I tend to think the Arky-Ole Miss game will be the most entertaining of the weekend.

Actually there were quite a few of us saying A&M was extremely overrated and didn’t have an offense, the media was just enamored by their 1 ranked win last year after multiple 7-5 seasons

I think a lot of people suspected it might happen.

If the Aggies finish last in the West.... and with losses already to both Arkansas and Miss St., that looks very possible at this point... then just about any Bama game might have been a better choice.
I think Alabama-LSU even with LSU's struggles might have been a better choice in hindsight. Georgia-Auburn also might prove to have been a better choice.
I think Bama-Ole Miss or Bama-Tennessee might have even been a better choice.

Yeah that is also true. There's an old saying that applies in this situation..."Fool me once (Aggies), shame on you..Fool me twice shame on me!"

Bama A&M will still likely still have high ratings. You have the biggest ESPN CFB market in Bham as well as Texas. With that being said, I will probably watch Bama score 21 points in the first 7 minutes and then switch over to LSU/KY.

Not sure which is more intriguing
Watching Bama slaughter the lil reveille's
or
Watching an LSU/UK cripple fight

hmm. I think I see a trend there. It's almost as if everybody wants to watch Alabama.
prudent to note that Tagovailoa was injured (yet again) 2 games before LSU in 2019 and missed the game before LSU. Most folks thought he would miss the LSU game too. And honestly, he shouldn't have played till he was healthy. Note the season that the LSU vs Alabama game wasn't in the top 10. Yep. 2019. The season that Tua was most severely injured and Alabama wasn't headed to the playoffs.
America's team.

That's the point. If not BAMA vs TAMU then what? LSU is a dumpster fire, the barn is not a sure bet they won't have 4 losses by that time. Arkansas, no one saw coming but after Athens, they don't exactly make must-watch TV. Ole Miss was a lot more talk than walk.
Bottom line, TAMU is still the most talented team on BAMA's schedule, regardless of QB issues so far.
