Catfishing?

Say you have a school that has a particular fan make a fake Twitter account and has a picture of a pretty young blonde as her profile picture.
She portrays herself as a super fan- yet nobody has ever met her. Nobody from her small hometown claims to know her.
She calls in to radio shows to verify her authenticity as a 21 year old, and says she doesn't go to games with friends, which is why people don't see her. She goes with her Dad. She's "just not a big picture person", which is why she only has three pictures of herself anywhere.
On big party weekends she is- you guessed it- at home, tweeting recruits.
She only adds recruits and people that have her school's name somewhere in their profile. She's constantly tweeting recruits throughout the day- yet she says she's in school.
Sound real or not?

Who cares? There are tons of pretty blondes out there. If this one isn't real, there are real ones just around the corner.

I don't buy the "this is upsetting to me". I do buy the "I don't want to get caught" theory.
It's really not hard to prove who you are when you're who you say you are. The harder it is to prove, the less I believe you are real.

Well, for one, I don't want her using some young girl's picture she probably does not know to talk to recruits. You nor I know if the girl in the picture is 18 or not.
If I were a recruit DMing back and forth, I wouldn't want to know I'm talking to some guy or someone other than who they say they are.

I care because you shouldn't use someone else's picture to mis-represent who you are. And you don't need to be tweeting dozens upon dozens of recruits like this every day, all day.

Personally, I'm not "jimmied", I just think misrepresentation is pretty crappy, especially when using it for what it's being used for.
I'd think it was crappy if it were Florida or Alabama or LSU or whomever.
