Yeah this was posted a few days ago. But it's a good article. Most people don't understand how bad the situation was here. Our coaches basically took a year off while they looked for new jobs.
A guy I worked with told me the Petrino thing would set us back 3 years (and he hated Arkansas). I didn't want to believe him then but that's what happened.
Our starting QB has had 4 different OCs and 3 different HCs in 5 years.

Petrino is an offensive guru and has left carnage everywhere he's been. I think Jeff Long knew that going in. 21-5 over a 2 year period was impressive although he couldn't beat Saban.
Lot's of fans wanted Jeff Long to overlook the shite head that Petrino was, but ultimately had to be fired.
I like what Bert is doing here.

I just don't see it. Booby P was 10-3 and 11-2 over his last 2 years. Gave Arkansas their first 11 win season since Lou Holtz in 1977.

Even with the, "I hate Auburn" thing, it is hard not to like Bielema.

Arkansas missing on a full year of recruiting is equivalent to LSU missing 2 complete classes. If that was to happen, it would for sure hurt LSU as well.
Petrino won here with smoke and mirrors. He won many games the last 2 years, but sprinkled in was a miracle win to Vandy among other close wins. We werent dominant by any stretch, and still couldnt beat Saban and bama. In fact, couldnt even come close
Petrino gets too much credit, and he was gonna fall flat on his face in '12 as well, the talent and depth on this team was horrible. Most people here look at records, not a end all be all measurement of the state of the program

Big talk coming from a shite team that hasn't done anything since 1998.
They would probably have more SEC wins if they got to play Tenn, Vandy, and Kentucky every year instead of playing in the West and a quick turnaround can happen fast. Auburn went from 3-9 in 2012 to the BCSCG in 2013.
Not really an Arky fan, but I do hope they beat the shite out of Tenn this year.

Meh if anything I feel neutral/slightly annoyed with him. The whining he did about the HUNH is still fresh enough in my mind for me to still picture him as a whining bitch.
But I do like his coaching style and he'll have Arkansas competing again, how soon? Idk.
But yea it's definitely not "hard not to like the guy" at least for me.

His original proposal for player safety wasn't whining about the no-huddle. There are several players with sickle-cell. His original proposal was to allow 10 seconds to substitute on 1st downs alone.
The concern was that a player could have a safety issue relating to sickle cell, and if the team is out of timeouts there's no way they can come out short of just coming off the field mid-play. Or faking an injury.
