I know that it has always been a rule, but I thought I heard last weekend and the weekend before it being mentioned that they're really going to be looking for it this season and call guys on it more. I just don't see where getting hit in the shoulder and standing your ground while it happens should warrant revocation of the otherwise-awarded base.

And FWIW the guy that got hit ended up getting on base anyway. The call didn't hurt UGA, just seemed like a BS call given what had happened.

I've never seen it enforced when a guy got plunked in a normal stance and didn't jump away from it. I have seen it enforced several times when a guy leaned into it.

Yeah, this guy got beaned inside the batters box and was called back for not attempting to move out of the way. The radio announcers were pissed and Stricklin came out to argue. Couldn't figure out if it was a bad call or if this is something that should be expected throughout the season.

No offense, but Miss St is notorious for leaning into pitches. They constantly do it against LSU. I've seen players called back in prior seasons.
