SEC is a far cry from the 2008- 2012 versions. In particular 2009, 2010 and 2011, but still the best by a small margin. QB play has gone down in recent years.

This! The SECW had some bad match-ups and laid some eggs.

Bama lost to the eventual NC, too many turn overs (3)and the inexperienced secondary was exploited. Still had a chance to win.

Ole Miss had the worst match up and got destoyed. They were probably the 4th-5th best sec team at seasons end and played the #1 bg12 team. But even though they got destroyed it wasn't the most embarrassing loss for the sec. IMO lsu had that by losing to ND.

No excuse for lsu to lose to Notre Dame, or Au to lose to Wisconsin, MSST vs GT as well. Those teams should have won.

I would rate the most embarrassing losses that hurt sec perception

LSU pathetic loss vs Notre Dame

Ole Miss worst match up for sec and I'd like to give them a break but the score moves them up the list.

Bama, only because it was in the CFPO and had the most riding on it but as bad as Bama played at times in the game still had a chance to win.

Au ~ lsu was able to beat Wisconsin who had just gotten their shite pushed in by OSU in the b10cg. Gus now 0-2 in bowl games.

MSST ~ state was a big surprise during the season having their best team in years but after the Bama loss they seemed to fall apart thinking about what could have been. GT is a tough team to scheme for but still, beat them state.

The SEC WAS AND STILL IS THE BEST OVERALL CONFERENCE.

Bama has the talent to win it all this year if the QB position pans out, hopefully one of the young highly rated guys takes over the team. There is talnt for Kiffin to work with and the D will be really good.

Au has a lot of talent but may not have the Defense needed(lacks the depths have some great players on 1st team)

UGA loaded with talent, easily has the best RB in the SEC with multiple high quality guys to share the workload(probably the best backfield in the nation with Bama, Ark and Au nipping at their heels ) will have a very good defense, not worried about Qb play, Uga has Talent at that position and Richt always had one ready to go.

Those are the 3 best bets for a cfpo spot. With a few teams that, while Longshots, if all things go their way could surprise. Mizzo, TAMU and lsu have potential to get there but it will take a shite ton of Au luck. Ark can beat anyone in the country but they aren't making that leap to the top quit yet, I like what Bert's doing and in a few more years they'll be consistent enough to be a true contender.
