Granted UGA played a D-IAA school and started subbing before the first half even ended, but USC looked great against Virginia. Thoughts?

We put in our second string QB and a true Freshman RB when the score was 14-0 for a series. That's when GSU almost scored in the first half..as those 2 coughed it up on our 30 yd line. And the score was never 30-10. We were up 38-0 in the 3rd QTR.

If USC leapfrogs UGA it'll show how much bias there is. No way should a #2 leapfrog a #1 after they both beat the crap out of their opponents as they should. Now, I personally feel USC is better than UGA, but thats not the issue here.

THe SEpt 13th winner will be voted #1 regardless. The votes are so close already, very few points seperate Georgia, USC, and Ohio St. I would not be surprised to see USC voted #1 next poll. Don't really matter though. Polls should be very fluid week to week. Only very little emphasis should be placed on a preseason poll.

Unless your team just so happens to be the 2004 Auburn Tigers.

Now, now. AU would have been slaughtered by USC. I know this because I heard it from USC fans.

Probably would have been a good game, but that is the past, and we have a whole new football season on our hands.

Nope, until Georgia loses, I don't see it happening.

After a bunch of talking heads saying, "the most surprising thing about this weekend was the play of Mark Sanchez, and USC's dominant road win."

They are trying to set up a 1 v 2 in Sept.

Mark Sanchez is a pretty good lookin' talent, but he's a stump, he'll blow it against a solid D. I think the talent around him is glorious.

LSU is equal in every dimension except QB and PUNTING.

I hope Hatch is alot smarter than Sanchez, so it'll be a wash.

3rd string. Redshirt Freshmen Aaron Corp beat him out during the 2 weeks Sanchez was down. Mustain is physically talented but was throwing picks in practice, making poor decisions.

Pete Carroll said that basically they will battle for the back-up spot on a week to week basis, but if Sanchez was unable to go vs. Virginia Corp would have started.

Damian Williams has pretty much emerged as our #1 reciever though. Pete asked the defensive players during fall camp who they thought the top reciever was and most said Williams.

That's unfortunate.

Awesome! Any catches against Virginia?

BTW, Williams, not Mustain, was crowned the "Top Football Player in Arkansas" their senior season. Williams got game.

I think USC is likely to leapfrog if for no other reason, UGA lost yet another top linemen for the year and the voters have been getting itchy on the trigger finger ever since Sturdivant went down. However, after yesterday, I am pretty confident that the UGA offense can score on anyone. The defense was hard to evaluate as a whole since Richt was substituting individual players throughout to get some evaluation in. Yes, USC looked better, but with first games of the sesaon, you have to look at them with a grain of salt. Carroll loves proving how awesome USC is by travelling to a so-so team and putting it on them the first game of the season. Richt knows he had one, and possibly two scrimmages to get ready for the real season. OF course he is going to coach differently. I think next week will be a better chance to evaluate the defense because less mix and matching will be occurring.
