What happened to Cornwell? I remember seeing a couple weeks ago that the competition was between Cornwell and Coker.

Remember how dumb ESPN was hyping up Coker as a Heisman candidate? Yeah, remember that?

ESPN did not "hype up Coker" as a Heisman candidate. He was mentioned on watch lists just like guys like Jeremy Johnson are this year. I don't know why people keep saying this.

He will, most likely, be very good.

But....., most likely, not this year.

Since the 92 Merger, I can only think of 3 true Freshman QB's doing real well in the SEC:

Danny Wuerffel
Peyton Manning
Eric Ainge

Somebody help me out if there was another TRUE FR QB in the SEC that did real well.

Tebow?

Saban's teams have been so damn similar to Shula's.

Because anything mentioned about Alabama or Saban or Alabama football gets blown out of proportion. I blame the media, journalists, reporters, newspapers, talk show radio idiots.

Did saban really say Coker wasn't in the starting an discussion or was that just a made up quote?

Because Brett McMurphy was still hyping him as the leading Heisman candidate on CFL one week before the season started last year. He wasn't the only one, just the most vocal about it.

He was only in there in goal line or short yardage situations. Chris Leak was still QB during Tebow's freshman year.

Played sparingly behind Leak his TF year. Leak was the starter for the 2006 championship team.

Honestly, saban is such a drama queen when asked a bunch of questions by the media that I wouldn't be surprised.
