Well, about CBJ, I consider myself a logical fan. I'm not exactly happy with 5-7, but the improvements we saw in terms of discipline, coaching, player development, and overall hype give me and other logical fans an optimistic perspective heading forward. Some people may have expected more, but objectively looking at last years schedule with a new coach and our roster, it was hard too expect more than 5-6 wins anyway.
Good post.

1. Martin wasn't hated by fans. A few criticized him and an even smaller number wanted him gone. MOST however were happy with him. 2. He was offered both an extension/raise by UT.
Try again. Next time with facts.

Two Reasons:
1) Expectations
2) Recruiting
1) Expectations
2) Recruiting

Cuonzo Martin takes his team to the NCAA Tourney and gets them to the Sweet 16. But he is hated and never supported by his fanbase.
Butch Jones goes 5-7 (2-6) and misses a bowl game (which should never happen at a school like Tennessee). Yet he is already loved by the fanbase.
It isn't true that Cuonzo was "never supported by his fanbase". When he finished his first season in 2nd place in the conference (when they were a preseason pick to finish 11th), most fans thought that this reaffirmed that he was the right coach for the job. Then things started to crumble. Yes, UT made it to the sweet 16 this season, but this was the first season they made it to the NCAA tourney under Martin's watch.
A lot of UT fans had high expectations for this team. That began to fade after the season started to go into the tank. Remember that on February 23rd, UT was 6-7 in the conference and 18-11 overall. They had just been swept in the regular season by aTm and had lost 5 of their last 7 conference games (including a 4 point loss to a Vanderbilt team with 7 scholarship players). UT made a late run, and fans began to ease up...but the trust wasn't there on either side.
Jones came in after the Football program had been decimated. He faced a top 10 schedule and his teams showed improvement over what Dooley had been putting on the field. He followed that up with a top 10 recruiting class.
Martin had to follow Pearl, while Jones followed Dooley. Expectations were not the same for the two.

If I was a UT fan though, I would expect a Bowl game every year no matter the situation.
Agreed, but the past 5 years have been an unprecedented roller coaster. It's hard to even get there with all the staff turnover, player attrition, and consistently difficult schedule

You can't agree with that post and then list excuses. I wouldn't be happy. I don't care about the other stuff

I wanna laugh at UT but honestly I envy them. They make it to the Sweet 16 but don't wanna crown Martin. UGA makes the NIT with a far inferior coach and we extend the contract.
Meh.
ETA: nvm, saw UT offered him an extension. Props withdrawn.

I never said I was happy. You think I've been happy with the past 5 years? But sometimes you just have to take a step back and look at the big picture, and realize that God hates you in cycles, and it's useless to get all pissed off about something that you personally have zero control over.

How does this make any sense?
Answer: Because it's Ewe Tee.

I'll put it to you this way:
They have this bullshite support our coach mentality or else. They run off real coaches (or candidates) only to be replaced by bullshitters and yesmen. Coach bullshite is a prime example because plain and simple: he is not a Dooley and has this fraudalent philosophy of family.
The program is getting destroyed by outsiders and thousands of fans have left the fanbase since 12/7/2012.
The beloving of a bullshitter is just proving everybody in the SEC why they have one of the most dumbest fanbases in America.

Zo was in his third year. He had all his players, and on paper, we were one of the top 3 most talented teams in the SEC.
And you made the frickin sweet 16.

....1 point from the Elite 8 and their fanbase did everything they could to run Cuonzo off. fricking unbelievable.

I just didn't understand him turning down Marquette, but taking Cal.

Their criticism of him in be regular season was justified. That team underperformed for how talented they were.

Many, many shitty coaches have made the sweet 16. Ever heard of Steve Donahue?

That's Botch
They so totally fricked up the Gruden thing because Bohn don't want to go through the Nick Saban experience again.
Botch is not SEC coaching material and the reason why he got the job is because he did a good job of kissing arse and convincing them he is the right yesman for the job in the face of desperation. He sold himself like a goddamn whore.
