Can someone explain WTF is going on with the home vs away in CWS?

Game 1 UF is home team
Game 2 FSU is home team
so far, so good right?
Game 3 FSU is the home team
WTF is that shite? No reward for hosting AND being the higher seed?
I don't understand

I think they have a coin flip before the regional starts to determine who is home for

Wrong. In Arkansas' case Mo St should be home 2/3 then

Yes because missouri state didnt have a stadium to play it in. They share with a minor league team who is in town.
Mo State is still technically the host team though which is why they were the home team in game 1.

Yes Missouri State is the national seed..which means if they won their regional then they host the super regional. Just happens to be at Arkansas' park because they didnt submit a SR host bid.
Hosting teams are allocated by the NCAA. Maryland is also hosting UVA at UVA's park. Both teams are 3 seeds and UVA won the bid to be the home park.
All allocated "host" teams are home for gm 1 and away for gm 2. Gm 3 is determined by a coin flip pre super regional.

But back to the original point of the thread..a coin flip for game three is pretty stupid. Especially for supers that pit national seeds against non national seeds.

Exactly..coin flips for regionals are fine with me. Supers there needs to be an advantage for the higher seeded team.
If you want to flip among paired 2's, 3's or 4's thats fine.

I think it should be a 1-1-1 format. Host/Visitor/Host as other have said.

That or the team that earned it should be home all 3 times like a true home/road series. I mean if you are hosting you should be the home team.
