Well that, and where to stay in Omaha and is it better go for the first weekend vs the championship series if you can't do the whole thing.

How about some suggestions for the visitors on that subject? I've been to Starkville once for football, but it was a quick trip, and didn't involve much other than going to the stadium on a shuttle bus from downtown.

I don't stay in hotels in Starkville but the closest are the two on Russell St (Courtyard - newest, and Comfort Suites). Hilton Garden Inn and there is another close to it (La Quinta). The first two are walking distance to stadium and Cotton District. There is a HI - Express on 12 that's probably OK. Honestly though, I doubt you can get a room this late. You might be stuck with Columbus.

ETA - forgot about the Hampton Inn corner of 12/Blackjack. I walk right by it when I walk to campus (which I will probably do on Saturday).

I was there. It was too many ppl. I had to try to watch it through the fence in the outfield and in between ppl walking by. I won't be going back during SBW. The stadium holds like 6 to 7 k . so it was double it's capacity

Thanks. I was thinking more along the lines of where to park and such, given everything that will be happening on Saturday, in particular. Booked a hotel room in Columbus back around the start of the season, and have some GA tickets in hand.

If you fence it in with the stadium, feel free.

Not sure what to tell you. They allow public parking on designated grass lots during football but not baseball. If they make an exception for SBW that would be a possibility. My favorite lot will be occupied by the hog cooking contestants. I might take two cars this week and run stuff over in the AM and walk in. Come as early as possible but with the Spring Game at 11:00 on Saturday, not sure how early is actually early. Good luck. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Do the Rebels not count attendance for the outfield of their baseball stadium?

I sat in the outfield one time for SBW a few years ago. We had young family that had just finished school up there and set us up a couple of tents at the very top right next to the big white commercial one out there. It was OK but the chairs are kind of a pain in the arse leaning forward. Other than that, though, no way I would get into that crowded mess out there.

I was actually up there for a high school day many, many years ago and they had all of these booths set on the drill field and we even had that cow (not the same one obviously) as a demo of some sort. Don't remember sticking my arm in there but do remember it. Not sure what they were demonstrating but it obviously made an impression.

They sell all they can. They need to cut ticket sales off at a certain point.

WHAT IS A CANNULATED COW?

The cannula acts like a porthole and gives direct access to the cow’s rumen.

Once the cannula is surgically placed in the cow, the animals grazes for a set period of time before being examined.

Farmers remove the plug and pull the grass and oat mixture from the rumen.

This material is collected and tested and this analysis shows farmers and researches which forages get the best results from the livestock, based on how much is digested.

The practice is said to have become common place in the 1920s but reports of cows being used in this way for scientific research date back to 1833.
