Isn't that what Auburn has?

Exactly

and isn't Clemson commonly referred to as "Auburn with a lake"?

Which makes us 10X better.

Clemson is so far from blue blood. Y'all are worse than LSU fans about when football began. No UGA isn't either but they're close.

They ain't getting rid of Scar, they gotta keep teams like that so the contending teams can have a cupcake.

And they can't build the East up too much, they just need them to be the sacrifice for the West in Atlanta every year so they get a team in the playoffs.

I like where we are. We get to play the best teams at the end of the year anyway and then hear the excuses why Clemson won and reasons we won't do it again. It's been a recurring cycle since the Orange Bowl when Sammy and Co. beat Ohio State the first time

Actually, had they done what they promised they were going to do in 1971 and left the ACC with us they might have had a shot in '91 when the deals we're being cut. But they preferred to bail at the last minute and stay in the basketball conference where they were king of football at the time.

They never had a shot

Vince Dooley hated Clemson and worked hard behind the scenes to ensure that SC got the invite when FSU turned us down.

We were going to expand. Our primary targets were FSU and Arkansas.

When the Criminoles bailed, there was a big push to grab Clemson. But Coach Dooley shut it down and was successful in lobbying to give the invite to the Gamecocks instead.

Why are you here? Yes you won the NC last year. So freaking what? Now go back to your ACC pussy boards and act all superior with them. We here on the rant just think you are special.

No thanks. You're like A&M, but with a very recent title. You were unbearable before. You're worse now. Continue posing as SEC from the ACC. Your big brothers are already our S. Carolina refugee.

That's true, and Florida lobbied for us over FSU AND Clemson actually. Foley walked us through the process as an assistant AD of some sort at the time. But Dooley lobied for us big time, no doubt about it. He didn't like Clemson and for good reason. Matter of fact, the dead periods before signing day are known to some as The Dooley Rule because he lobbied the rule as necessary due to so much hanky panky he had to deal with when Danny Ford was at Clemson.

I'm pretty sure Clemson never had a chance. Tennessee didn't want them in the league either so there were enough black balls against them, over their history of illegal recruiting tactics, that their reputation preceded them and they never had the votes. Auburn would have probably black balled them as well.

We often forget the FSU and Bowden dominated the ACC for far longer than this current streak Bama is on. I forget how many times FSU won league games, in a row, before they were beaten by ... was it Virginia or NC State (?), but I think it was over 100 league games in a row. 116 maybe?

So I get a kick outta the sheep humping goat blowing taterheads claiming Bama owns this league when Bama has been beaten almost yearly by others teams in the league (SEC).

Clemson's day is coming with their cheating on the recruiting trail. All the Florida teams have people on their trail now and so does UGA and SC. It's just a matter of time and they'll slip-up. They're stepping on too many toes. This is how they went down last time.

What cheating? Are you talking about that conspiracy theory that Dabo was promoted out of the blue because he would cheat? The theory that big donors would throw money at recruits because they were sick of losing? Sorry bud but those have been proven false.
