You guys will be in a bit of a pickle if the team doesn't make a bowl game.

Look at the numbers, and try not to faint. Should things take an unexpected and drastic turn for the worst during his tenure - which is Auburn Football History 101 - Malzahn’s buyout is $2,237,500 for each year remaining on his six-year deal. Let’s break it down by year on how much the school would owe him if it fires him after the following seasons:

2014: $11,187,500.
2015: $8,950,000.
2016: $6,712,500.
2017: $4,475,000.
2018: $2,237,500.

You know Gus doesn't want to get fired. He'd probably be out of coaching for a year or so. He'd have to spend all his time with Kristi. They seem like a couple that's pretty happy being apart.

Yes they have deep pockets. The war chickens love paying coaches for not working there anymore. Tuberville and Chizik like it also.

1- We aren't firing Gus anytime soon

2- Gus would easily land another job making $1-1.5mil minimum. Unlike Chizik, Gus has a future even if it isn't at AU

Auburn would only end up paying ~$4 mil in buyout if we canned him. Which we aren't

I posted this two or three weeks ago when people first started all the fire Gus shite. We aren't going to pay a buyout until at least 2017 which means he has at least next year to work things out unless he does some firable stuff.

While I hate seeing us lose games, we are getting better as the season goes along even though we are still losing. Right now, Auburn isn't as far from being a solid number three team in the west but the record doesn't show it. Next year may not look better though we might a very good team, the back half of our schedule looks laughably tough and the start of it is bad too.

Not this year, but next year for sure. You guys start off with Clemson. If they bring back most of their pieces, qb more importantly, they will probably rock you guys in the first game. That will set the tone for the rest of the season. LSU will return the vast majority of its team, Bama will still be loaded across the board, Aggie will bring back the majority of their team as well, so will the Hogs. Ole Miss and MSU are the only shaky teams in the west next year. Georgia will be revamped and tough, barring injuries. That is potentially 6 losses. Gus won't survive that.

I love how Auburn fans try to convince America that Gus is somehow an improvement on Chizik. The only difference between the two as head coach is Chizik won the Natty and Gus didn't.

Good. I like seeing Auburn lose 6 games and bring in recruiting classes ranked 30th or higher

Doesn't Muschamp have a pretty big buyout as well?

Auburn is so dumb.
