Thank God! For a moment there I had visions of Curley walking in. Shuddered at the thought!

God, I hope he doesn't go back there. Don't want to have to root against him.

Bill Snyder - Kansas State Were their departures as dramatic as (for example) Tommy Tuberville?

No. Snyder retired but then basically had to come back out of retirement because the football program was terrible thanks to Ron Price.

It would be pretty funny if he did, though.

Can anyone think of any coach who has returned to a school that he left earlier?

Fran.

Southwest Texas was and is 1AA till next year. He coached there from 90-91 and from 11-.

And from what I hear from some big alumni, they just LOVE him being back so much that a number of their large donors have stopped giving to football until he is gone.

Bill Walsh at Stanford. He and John Robinson were Rivals at Stanford/Southern Cal, then 49er's/Rams and then back to Stanford/Southern Cal.

The key is, you can't be hated by your old fan base. Tubbs already screwed Ole Miss over once. He obviously hated the job there, he left it for Auburn.
