After tonight LSU would have victories over Oregon, MSU and West Virginia. All ranked. If LSU is ranked 1 after this weekend they will have earned it.

I agree with this 100%

I have a feeling that once the BCS rankings come out that by years end, any team that is undefeated in the SEC will easily have the computers rankings to push them ahead of Oklahoma.

Again though, all that said, as long as Bama, LSU or even Arky win it the field, they'll get their shot in the NC game

Yeah any voter who doesn't vote LSU number one if they win tonight should lose their vote.

No what you're dealing with is the rest of the sports nation (coaches and media)against the SEC.the head to head battle between Bama and LSU will set up that change till then the Sooners at #1 spot.

You have a remarkable understanding of this preseason ranking BS! Of the top teams, the rankings give the team with the easiest schedule yet one more advantage... The #1 ranking. Seems to me, that's why tOSU made it twice, but then proved they didnt belong.

How can a team drop in the polls if they just happen to beat a weak team that week? It's stupid, I think. Until that team loses, they should stay at the same ranking, or move up with a team ahead of them that loses.

why should a team stay #1 just because the media factored in their sched and lack of championship as reasons they have the best chance of going undefeated, therefore, we rank them #1 preseason?

your logic, a team can play 2-13 on their sched, win them all, and still be 2nd because the #1 team was number 1 and didn't lose. that makes total sense.

...an Oklahoma loss?

Nope. If LSU had've had about 12-15 preseason votes for #1, then I'd say yes with their schedule and wins so far. They started too far back to jump them at this point. Bama hasn't played well enough yet to even think about jumping OU.

computers will love LSU once WV and Oregon win their conferences.

Okies will need Florida State to win the ACC.

We shall see.

Nobody from the East or West coast will vote LSU No. 1. Tigers always play better as underdogs and with a chip on their shoulder anyway. Screw the AP (USC's B*tch).
