People criticized Cam because he was embroiled in a pay for play scandal. That was the scope of it.

No, that was only a part of it. Cam's verbose, "frick the haters," running around BDS with his hand over his mouth after the '10 Iron Bowl, talking shite to other teams attitude (plus the fact that, unlike JFF, Cam was virtually unstoppable) made him much more despicable.

And don't tell me this motherfricker didn't know exactly what was going on and what he was doing. Dude is a damn super villain (and, now that he's gone, you kind of have to admire the balls)

You trying to dickride his failure on a message board just screams of insecurity.

I'm guessing you still don't know why he did that?

You did not pay attention

I'm not talking about all the butthurt rantards talking shite about Cam and UF before the pay for play scandal.

Before that story broke, there was no national feeding frenzy on Cam Newton. There just wasn't. Perhaps it was different in SEC country. But he didn't become villified on the national stage until that YahooSports! story.

This is coming from someone who didn't live in SEC country.

Besides, Cam's never been roasted merely for living life how he wants. Most of the inane criticism surrounding JFF is exactly that.

At least people criticized Cam for apparently legitimate reasons.

So you tell me it's not about the pay for play scandal, yet your demonstrative GIF refers to that exact event.

Get real.

those cleats might be the gayest things I've ever seen worn on an athletic field

Those cleats look like they are illegal (too long). Somebody should file a challenge right before the game and have them measured.

You're right. His team hates him.

This is like 2010 all over again.

I know why. Doesn't make him any less of a douche. Anything other than humility on the field is going to get scrutinized Cam knew/knows that and he plays it up in the opposite direction on purpose. He's not stupid. He's an "entertainer and an icon."

Still waiting to read some criticism from the national audience.

As far as I can see, the writers think the cleats are cool.

They'd have JFF's head by now.
