But when you're picked as the best player in the ENTIRE draft you don't come back.

I agree but I wouldnt be surprised at all if he comes back. Worked out fine for manning and bradford

Good point. We will see how he does in workouts and the senior bowl. IMHO thou I wouldnt take locker over Cam or Mallet, thou. I just haven't seen anything to think he should be a top 10 pick

After several months of studying game films, I'd think the defensive coordinators on the various SEC teams would be able to come up with a scheme to stop Auburn's one-trick-pony offense. Newton may get half the yards next year as he racked up this year. This is just another reason he'll put his number into the draft this year. (The biggest of course - "Show me the money!!!"

I've seen him projected to go as the 3rd QB taken, with Newton being the 4th.

He will be at the peak of his draft potential coming off this year.

I disagree. let's say he comes back and works hard, get's alot better as a passer, and plays well behind the new o.line would there be any doubt he would be the #1 QB in the 2012 NFL draft?

This year he will be the 2nd or 3rd QB.

He will go in the first round regardless and get millions. Why risk injury behind a rebuilding OL? Answer: no way.

I think Cam will impress in his workouts. He has a great arm, for the first half of the year he was running a lot but the second half of the year he has thrown the ball well. Ive been very impressed with his passing ability and thats why I feel they beat Oregon easily. I think his character issues may pose a problem but as far as athletic ability, he has unlimited potential

Cam has alot of growing up to do. He is way too immature right now. I can't imagine him interviewing well. After Young and Russell being bust because of immaturity, I can see teams passing on him. Josh Freeman has similar talent to Cam, but was way more mature and has blossomed into one of the better young QBs in the league.

his reply there is too much money for the owners to lose if they have the lock out and it will be fixed before the season.

I guess his agent told him that?

me either. I'll be VERY interested in what comes out after combine interviews because if he interviews poorly we will ALL know about it.

most I've seen have it like this.

1. Luck

2. Mallett

3. Newton

4. Locker

IMHO

1. Luck

2. Locker

3. Mallett

4. Newton

but... that could easily changed.

It only takes one idiot GM to take a gamble on a kid. Tebow went higher than he should have, but we saw what happened in Denver this year.

He definitely isn't at the right place to mature. Auburn coaches going around chest bumping and encouraging thuggery behavior is not where he needs to be. He needs a coach like Parcels, but I doubt they would go that route.

If he can't renegotiate his contract with the barn for at least double his current salary he's gone.
