Cam Newton gave a pretty wide ranging interview in which he discusses his history making season at Auburn including his breakout performance against South Carolina. Hit the LINK to relive one of the greatest seasons in SECr history

You could probably call it one of the greatest seasons in CFB history and no one would disagree with you.

Him and his dad got a ton of unfounded hate on here and everywhere. It was an all out witch hunt that didn't turn out like the haters wanted. Cam stayed pretty damn cool throughout all of that too, IYAM.

Seeing as this is still one of the rant's favorite topics of discussion, it would be a crime to confine this thread to our holy board. This is for the layman as well.

Got no problems with Cam. Seems like the kind of guy you could hang out with and he'd be cool as long as you didn't talk about 2010 Iron Bowl.

It is kind of revisionist history though to act like his dad didn't first lie and say he didn't ask any one for anything and then turn around and admit that he did ask MSU, but only after he talked about Kenny Rogers being a liar.

AU was rightfully cleared of any wrongdoing, but Cecil was not without guilt.

documents released by AU show Cecil tried to get MSU to pay
quote:

The documents indicate Newton's father, Cecil Newton, and ex-Mississippi State player Kenny Rogers sought from $120,000 to $180,000 for the quarterback to sign with the Bulldogs out of junior college but didn't ask any other school for money.

Considering half of bama's roster is on the payroll, the fact Cecil asked MSU for money is sorta meh.

I know, right! Crazy. I can't believe they've not been busted yet! You'd think paying 40 kids would be hard to hide, especially since Saban processes so many of them. I'm surprised one of the kids he's processed hasn't blown the lid off the whole thing.

When your HC is best friends with the president of the NCAA you can keep a lot of things quiet

I really don't see why Auburn fans still insist on playing dumb and trying to deny the allegations. Even Cam straight whipped it out and all but admitted to it in that Iron Bowl documentary.

You cheated and you got away with it, flaunt that shite like a badge of honor. No shame in being the best card counter at the table for a season. I'd brag about it every chance I got if A&M bought a national title.

On giving advice to Jameis Cam said, "When you are the number one pick in the draft you have to realize that you're going to be playing for the worst team in the NFL"

Cam along with Nick Fairley made it a memorable season here on the Rant. After the national championship game I couldn't stand it any longer, simply had to join in. Those were special times

Guess he doesn't realize Chizik wasn't the one who signed the checks? He should direct his anger at Lowder, Uncle Milty, and the Yellafella
