Cam explained why in the New Orleans QB club video. He said he threw too much at our QBs and they couldn't handle it so he and Les went power run offense. Cam admitted he could have done better getting the QBs ready and will do so going forward.

Here's the problem. You spend all that time in the NFL and you forget how to teach. Cam is a refiner of established talent, not a molder of raw talent.

Mett in 2012 could easily be described as raw talent. What he did both on and off the field for Mett makes him worth every penny.

Riseupfromtherubble-Cam MOLDED a guy name Antwan Randle-El to a very productive quarterback from scratch.

1.3 million per year
The offense went 8 straight quarters, not including OT, without a TD between the last three games.

That doesn't sound like it's worth 1.3 mil.

No. It is also not his fault that he is held back by that fool Miles.

Well, he was a so-so HC in the NFL with the Dolphins once

Saban was Vince Lombardi in the NFL compared to Cameron as an HC. You may want to recheck that.

My opinion is that next year will tell me a lot about Cam Cameron. I think he can be a very good OC in college but he needs to either 1. Get the players he needs to run his system or 2. Develop his gameplans around the talent he has.

I think last year he had so much talent he almost couldn't fail and the talent he had matched the system he wants to run. This year, he had a ton of inexperienced talent and he didn't quite gameplan around it really until the A&M game. I don't know how much of that was Miles, but I would believe Miles definitely had some to do with it of course.

Again, I'd be better suited to say whether he's overpaid or not after the 2015 season.

If Kiffin had a stretch like that...even in only year one...everyone else would be laughing their asses off at us.

Everyone DID laugh at our offense... including LSU fans after the cursing stopped.

His scheme worked great with all that NFL ready talent, cause its a NFL system. With a squad of all college freshman, they arent quite there yet. Ill let you know in a year or two how much he is really worth.

Honestly, I am not sure any coaches are worth what they get now, but the arms race shows no signs of slowing down.

Agreed. Plus he owned up to having a shitty year at that breakfast earlier this week. "I should've done a better job in developing both QB's"......which is the truth.

Eta: how much of last year was his doing as opposed to just stacked with NFL talent on offense?

I think him and the other staff members are the main reason these guys have been so successful

it's not like they came out of HS NFL ready

cas4t-You are correct, for all these people saying Cam had all this NFL ready talent, well that same talent was there BEFORE Cam arrived at LSU. In one year, Cam did what NO OTHER OC has done in the HISTORY of the SEC and that is to have a 3000 yd passer, 2-1000 yd receivers and a 1000 yd rusher. So far all the GREAT Coordinators PAST and PRESENT if that is so easy to do then why is that NOT the norm??

He earned his pay last year, IMO and to his acknowledgement he underachieved this year, so let's give him time to fix the problem with next years group which will have experience.
