My dad just had his last radiation treatment today. It is hardly a death sentence. Best wishes to him and his family. I was torn up when I first heard the news a couple of months ago but I felt better after an hour of googling

I love this thread. There are many (too many) like this, where a player or coach is facing a tough injury or illness....and the posters are pretty awesome.

I'm ashamed that the only posts not like were by LSU fans. One even trying to flame another school.

He's about my age and it sounds like he has received some treatment for it although it is not clear to me what it was. If it is early the treatment may be monitoring and active surveillance and he may be able to go years and perhaps the rest of his natural life without any kind of medical intervention. It is certainly a disease one can live with. At his age I doubt radiation would be recommended; if a medical procedure was required it would most likely be removal.

I wish him well and hope he doesn't miss a beat; having to deal with any type of cancer is stressful for sure.

Glad Cam's doing well. Hoping LSU goes 11-1 this season!
