I am taking some kids from Bama up this month to the overnight camps. Is there any thing I need to know before I get there? Will Coach Cal actually be there ?

I've never been to or taken anyone to coach Cal's camp, but the person whose name is on the camp almost always is AT the camp. The amount of time/coaching varies by person.
As a kid I went to Bobby Knight's camp and he was there the whole time. He was loud, mean, and a total a-hole to every 8th grader there. He was just as big of a jerk to us as he is to his players.

Coach should be there along with Payne, Robic and Barbee. Usually a good mix of current and former Wildcats on the camp staff as well.

He'll be there along with a few other coaches. You'll also be able to meet a few current and former players and some national guys(writers, announcers etc.) sometimes come up. Well, that's how it was the past few years.

My nephews went with the BIL. They loved it. The current and former players will be on hand at the camp. They went after the 2012 Championship, so they got to hang with MKG, AD, Cal, Boogie, etc. It is a little steep in price, but as my BIL said, it is worth every penny to experience being in the Craft Center and being treated like royalty. Hope it is a fun time on campus!.

I heard it's no worse than the Joe Paterno one.

I had a family member or 2 in these camps. The last one was during the Billy Clyde days and that kid got 1 on 1 time with Billy Clyde. Not talked to anyone with kids that went through a Cal camp but my guess is the same framework still applies as UK runs the camps not the coaches if memory serves.
If they put you up in the towers you will be near nothing. If they put you up near Craft, you will be near everything but have no place to park.

I went to Tubby's camp back in the day and he was there the entire time working with everyone
