Anyone basing this prediction on last year's Wisconsin game is way off. That was a legit top-ten team; BYU isn't.

BYU players are generally in their early to mid 20s...those guys are grown men. Don't take them lightly.

BYU has no shot even if LSU gets mediocre QB play, they will still beat BYU by 10.

That is what I thought about Wisconsin last year. By more than 10!

That game was basically a road game. Houston will be a pro-LSU crowd. On top of that, we showed up with the same conservative offense, Fournette was injured and it was the first game with Aranda's new defensive system.

BYU is hard to predict year and year out overall because of the missions and such however one thing you can always count on when playing them is they will be extremely physical. Due to the mission trips most of their starters are typically a few years older than the the average college kid so they are more physically developed.

When Tech has played them in the past I was surprised at just how physical BYU played. How that plays out vs LSU in an early season game who knows but I wouldn't count BYU out.

BYU has never been known as a physical team. Of course neither has Georgia Tech.

Yeah, this coming from an Ole Miss fan, whose team *lost* to BYU last they played, and whose current team is a dumpster fire just starting to burn.

In order, BYU played Arizona, Utah, UCLA, West Virginia, Michigan State, Mississippi St, and Boise St. Not the toughest schedule, but not the easiest.

C'mon Aubie, what makes you hate LSU? Are you really a bama fan in disguise? Remember, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

I think the only 2 FBS teams they beat with winning records were Toledo and Wyoming

My prediction for last year's Wisconsin game:

quote:

re: Bold predictions for the Wisky game Posted by jimmy the leg online on 8/20/16 at 10:23 pm to LSUTil_iDie We underperform, we win a tight game, absolutely nothing changes. Now THAT is a bold strategy Cotton. ReplyOptionsTop 11

We lost...which I didn't count on, but I figured it would be an underwhelming performance.
I think this game against BYU stays close through the half, then I think we win going away.
17-10 at the half
41-13 final score
We are just too fast for these guys on turf.
Geaux Tigers!

LSU will be in a 4 quarter battle and they'll walk away battered and bruised. It won't go how they think it will go. They may win but it'll be by 6 or so, not double digits.

this might be the best scenario for LSU. young guys recover from bruises quickly. and having to battle for victory in the first game is good for a team. as long as we win, i'm good.
