Who should they have expanded with?

No good options.

Cincy brings more to the table than Iowa State, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Baylor

They break the Ohio State wall of impenetrability in recruiting. Get a 2+ million metro area in the footprint bigger than all listed above.. A sister school for WVU who is out on an island.

Can't compare them to pre-existing members. You have to compare them to TCU and West Virginia.

Cincy and BYU are good options.

The reason the media (especially ESPN) is pounding away saying there aren't is b/c FS1 and ESPN DONT HAVE THE MONEY to pay for the expansion.

Cord cutting is fricking up their bottom line and their corporate overlords demand no more humongous cost increases.

Well when the Big 12 folds when the GOR ends it wont really matter who is a pre-existing member or not

And many of those pre-existing members wont be accepted by any other conference.

Just a horrible move from the worst managed conference

Maybe but you can't expand for one. BYU is in the wrong direction both in geography and in millennial mindsets, and UH would just cannibalize what they already had.

The conference died when it didn't invite Louisville. This is all just a square dance until it goes away.

Another way to look at it is no two options are worth $20 million a year.

I mean BYU has a stand alone deal only worth $8 million a year.
