Bye weeks for Bama and LSU

How many consecutive years has LSU and Bama been given a bye week before their game together? It appears that the SEC sees this as the premier matchup within the conference for some time now.

4th year in a row. Since Saban has been there, 2008, 2009, and 2012 were the only years they didn't share a bye week the weekend before their matchup.
And they'll share the bye week next year, too.

I think there are several reasons to have the bye at the end of October that are more compelling than the simple fact that the next opponent is LSU:
1. 8 games, bye week, 4/5 games makes a really good split to avoid fatigue, especially in the back half of the season.
2. Saban's birthday is Halloween.
3. We usually play UT right before the bye week, and they are our biggest rival, other than possibly the barn. (Doesn't apply this year, though).

We;ve had some years where we didn't have a bye week this week.
Stop making this the OMG game of the century.
It's not the premiere matchup. They dont go by that. It happens to fall where we need a break. You're certainly not our "PREMIERE" GAME. I cant speak for Saban but our game with LSU is not in the same stratosphere as Auburn. Saban might view LSU differently but not the fans or players.
Dam, beating Mizzou and Ole Miss sure did make yall feel good.
