Context!
-Texas has gotten a worse or equal record to the year preceding it since 2012
-Haven't finished ranked since 2012
-They fired their coach last season
-Worst recruiting class in history coming in
-Boosters have the AD by the balls, moreso than at other schools
They will be back within the next couple years under Herman but you cant argue that Texas has been
the past couple years while at the very least Tennessee has stabilized

Think about all the "oh we were beat-up, a crippled team when you beat us," bullshite in this thread. When, in fact, they were ALL predicting a big Vol win in The Cock Pit the week leading up to that game. It caught them totally off guard, even though you and I had warned them all summer and fall it was coming ... their melt was epic that night.
It'll be worse this coming season. mUSChamp has their number.

You've got to wonder which flavor this one is going to be. Will it be the hot, young up-and-comer who is unproven? Will it be the legacy hire because his daddy was good? Will it be the ride-the-coattails type that takes over right after their predecessor had turned the program around? Or will they come up with an entirely new way of blowing a coaching hire?

With ESPN hemmorrhaging money, Dollar Store Dave out of the picture, VOLS rolling in the dough plus a very nice roster compared to 2012, I believe the stars are finally aligning for Big Jon Gruden to claim his big orange throne imo.

You got the frick rid of him like you should. Then Dooley gets there and he runs it into the ground for 3 seasons. Now Butch is on his 5th season. TBH if he is there at the end of this year and yall don't see the SECCG, then your new mascot is seen below...

The guy is in his 50s with a sweet gig. One where there is no win/loss record. He hasn't coached at all in 8 years and hasn't coached a college team in 25. I just don't see him giving that up to have to recruit 17 and 18 year olds 24/7. But hey, maybe this time the Vols really might get Gruden

To be completely fair, Kiffin left Tennessee for a blue blood program. Coincidentally, it was the other USC.
