That was the most injured team I've ever seen Tennessee field the back half of last season. Similar to UGA a few years ago. I could honestly care less that Tennessee lost by 3 points with their 2nd string defense on the field while playing on the road. A healthy Tennessee squad rolls South Carolina in Columbia.
Yada yada yada.

For the first twenty years in this league we could say the same thing every year by the time we played y'all on Halloween weekend.

Don't think anyone is feeling sorry for the Vols or Botch. Hell, I can remember years when we played y'all with walkon QBs and OLinemen and safeties moved to linebacker and WRs moved to RB.

For twenty five years we played UT, UF and Clemson to end the season while they were all peaking ... after playing Bama and good Arkansas teams, et al, the weeks before.

So don't make excuses. Just buck up and take your upset asswhoopin's like a man.

... and expect to be really pissed at Butch by the time we leave Knoxville this year.

We own your sorry asses lifetime.

Many of us think our coach should have been fired for losing to a team as sorry as South Carolina. You think about that for a minute.

Your team is so pathetic that people think their coach should be fired if he loses to you.

You are correct.

SC Jr. or SC Lite is the proper terminology.

Think about this for a minute, a coach that HAS been fired from one of your precious Big 6 brethren has NEVER lost to your shite pile of a team. Thats even with a roster that went 3-9 the year before. Which now that I think about it isn't as impressive as that same 3-9 team was one 4th quarter fumble away from taking you to OT in your own stadium.

Calbert said game day started with South Carolina coaches and players telling the recruits they were going to beat Tennessee that night.

“I was in the locker room, because Coach Muschamp said we’re not going to feed you any bull crap, what you see is what is is,” Calbert said. “I wasn’t scared in the sense for my life, but I was scared because there were a lot of things going on in that locker room, nothing illegal, just words being used, ‘We’re going to kill Tennessee.’

“Really, it was like a riot; it was, who was hungry enough to come out and take somebody’s head off, like literally, like they really wanted to kill Tennessee, like slaughter everybody,” Calbert said. “It was a savage mentality.”

Calbert said it’s something he will always remember and share with his new Tennessee teammates.

I mean, wtf did he expect the coaches to be telling the players?

What is it like in Tennessee's locker room before a game? Tea, crumpets, and life championship ribbons for each player?

This guy sounds soft.

That's all fairly common locker room talk before a game. Firing up your players or teammates involves a good bit of hyperbole... shite, we had a chant in middle school football about ripping the QB's head off and watering the field with his blood. Are we sure his name isn't Blake or Chad and he attends a New England boarding school?

It is fairly common. However we have to consider the source. I took the 2 minutes that it takes to google this kid's high school program. In the 4 years that he has been there, that team has won a TOTAL of 8 games.... in 4 years. I guess when you have those results you don't get very fired up before a game.

You do know that Tennessee's freshmen were like 8 years old the last time TN hit double digit wins, right?

Having successful seasons in the way long ago past doesn't have any effect on the fact that Tennessee is an irrelevant football program in the present.
