Right I was just wondering if Butch was going to make this a new tradition for 2017, 2018, etc. or if it was a one off thing for 2016.
Either way I think it builds a consistent leadership for the rest of the team the entire year. Smart move.

Kamara over Hurd? Interesting.
Alvin is much more vocal than Jalen and as much as a character as Alvin is if you listen to him he does have a lot of natural leadership ability. He's got a charisma to him and isn't shy about being in the spotlight -- people are drawn to him.
Jalen, otoh, has always shunned the spotlight. When he's had milestones and achievements he's ignored the media and celebrated with his team instead. This has caused beat reporter Wes Rucker to throw a hissy fit at least once making it more than worth it.

Now that I don't know. I like the consistent leadership as well. It may be more feasible to do that now since this group (minus Kamara) represents Jones' first signing class and the first group of young men he's been able to shape. We're finally free of the Dooley and Kiffin remnants (there might be one or two left but that's it) so we should start to see what a true CBJ program actually looks like this year.

Alvin is definitely the more vocal and outspoken of the two, and does more interviews than Jalen does. Even though Jalen is the starter and puts up more yards, he's more of a lead-by-example type of guy, so it makes sense for Alvin to be the captain, knowing their personalities. Certainly him being named the captain over Jalen is not meant to be an indictment of Jalen's ability or importance to the team.

Frick Kamara.....he's couldn't hack it at Bama and bad mouthed the program to recruits.. We could use the depth at the RB but he quit when Nick told him he had to earn it.
Congrats on being team captain and enjoy your career in Knoxville because he won't be there long enough to see Tennessee ever beat Bama

I hope the leadership guys that werent named are gonna divide the team after being passed over for what they earned.

You sound salty. By all accounts I've heard, AK has worked his tail off ever since he's been at UT. And he hasn't (at least publicly) badmouthed Bama in that time either, although idk what he's said to recruits.

I'll just go ahead and post this again.
Again, I'm sorry he hurt your little feelings.

He's now a team captain for Tennessee and an all - SEC type, future NFL player. He's moved on, you should too.

Captains were voted on by the team. Keep that hope alive though

Probably would've happened under Dooley

Tons of leadership, talent and experience in that group imo.
So no more "we are young" excuse?

It's fricked up for people to talk about Josh Dobbs' condition. Alabama fans get riled up when you talk about Derrick Henry's teeth, but they sure can dish it out with Josh Dobbs' condition or Nick Marshall's eyes/speech.

That's because Bama fans are internet tough guys with tiny dicks and no balls.
There are exceptions, but they are few and far between.

Bama fans' sense of humor/"morality" is a double standard that depends on whether or not the player poked fun at plays for them. Like feminists who get offended by kitchen/sandwich jokes, but won't hesitate to laugh and joke about when a crazy woman chops a dude's dick off.
