As much as I hate to say it, because UT eats babies, which is bad, and eats them barbecued Texas-style, which is worse, everybody's gotta start somewhere. It's not an impressive list right now, but you never know where these coaches are headed. Some of them could be very good at their job already. Even Saban was an unknown, once.

Still, they could have at least tried to get at least one name people might recognize at the present time, I'll grant that.

Is it odd that the name I'd be most interested in seeing on this coaching clinic list is Cutcliffe? Obviously Saban is better, but I find what Cutcliffe has done in his career more intriguing.

Inky is worth the price of admission. Otherwise, this is inside shite not really geared to anyone beyond those attending coaching clinics. But so goeth tRant...

Well, sure. But then the attendees won't have any reason to spend the glass beads and cowrie shells they bring to Knoxville to trade to the natives.

Inky and Cutcliffe are the only two I'd care to hear from, tbh.

I didn't even see Inky down there in the corner. Good call. I wouldn't mind seeing him too.

He's one inspiring dude. He was one of my all time faves before he got hurt because of how he always played the game but he shot up the list big time when the injury showed what kind of human being he truly was. He's one helluva person and truly an inspirational figure and I'm a cynical bastid that rarely gets inspired by anyone.

We would hire Dan Quinn because he just reached the super bowl with an elite offense (which he does not coach) and average defense (which he coaches)?

Average defense that started 4 rookies, yea.

And down the stretch, that average defense gave up

Arizona : 19
Kansas City : 20
Los Angeles : 14
San Fransisco : 13
Carolina : 16
New Orleans : 32 (19 in the 4th qtr once they were down 38-13)
Seattle : 20
Green Bay : 21 (0 until they were down 31-0 late in the 3rd qtr)

And then they ran out of gas against New England in the Super Bowl in the 4th quarter after giving up 9 points the first 3 quarters.

Add to that his time at Florida and in Seattle and yea, he's pretty good at the defense thing.

So I can pay $70 to hear high school football coaches teach the game of football...

...or I can pay $60 to hear successful NFL and college football coaches teach the game of football.

He is. For some reason, I thought he was still employed with UT. Did he leave with Fulmer or...?

Look at the high schools. A little critical thinking will lead you to believe it's a recruiting ploy.

Generally the ploy is to have high profile coaches that lure in the elite high school coaches to listen and be impressed, not bring in all the elite high school coaches to talk and impressive.......themselves?

Either way, Butch gonna do what Butch gonna do.

He's in Knoxville much of the time and came back... refused to go home really (Fulmer told him it was ok if he needed to go home and heal right after the injury but he told coach he wanted to stay and finish his degree and saw going home at that point in time as a detriment to his goals of escaping where he'd come from) after his injury. He travels now. Spends time in Knoxville, Atlanta, and at speaking gigs around the country.

A lot of people don't realize that Inky comes from a neighborhood that is so crappy that it's all but blackballed in college recruiting world. The fact that he ever got recruited and made it at UT was a miracle all it's own, especially since Inky was very much undersized and overlooked by everyone else, but it's nothing compared to the man he revealed himself to be post-injury.
