All week we heard about how Chad Kelly was going to be so rattled in his first real game.

He completed 55% of his passes and he was 16-31 with 202 and 1 TD if you look at his non-flukish plays. He didn't exactly light Bama up (though he played eons better than Bama QBs did and I'll gladly trade for him if you want!)

Looks like it was your QBs who couldn't handle a real defense

I'll readily admit Bama QBs are not quite ready for prime time, but the Bama O did manage to put up 500+ yards and 37 points on your "real defense" despite not having the benefit of a 31, 26, 17, and 18 yard fields to aid in that point production.

If you look through my post you will see where I said Bama would not be able to keep up with OM.

Wait Bama had 500+ yards of O ? Damn, those 5 turnovers. Bama actually really did beat themselves this time.

OM Scoring Drives:

2 yards - FG
26 yards - TD
18 yards - TD (104 yards total in 1st half, but three fields of 26 yards or less = 46 yards & 17 points)

87 yards - TD (3rd & 1 panic/prayer throw bounced off helmet for 66 yards)
49 yards - FG
51 yards - FG
81 yards - TD (penalty pass, but whatever, count it)
31 yards - TD

The longest non fluke drives OM had for points all night were 49 & 51 for FGs. You had a total of 77 yards of O on scoring drives after turnovers. 77 yards and 24 points.

Just try some perspective and enjoy the victory, otherwise the fall is gonna hurt badly.

So count it, but then don't count it?

As for only having 77 yards of O on scoring drives after turnovers. Here's where we started those drives and the end result:
ALA 17 Field Goal
ALA 26 Touchdown
ALA 31 Touchdown
ALA 18 Touchdown
OM 32 Turnover on downs, was running out the clock

Not exactly a lot of field to build up yardage.

Our defense has never been highly impressive from a yards allowed standpoint. We always play bend but not break, and they are usually very reliable when put in a position they need to step up. But you need to keep in mind, Alabama ran 100 plays. That rarely ever happens.

We are also consistently creating so many turnover that it simply can't be called an anomaly. Before Saturday night, we had created 42 turnovers since the start of 2014, with the next highest in the SEC being 30, and the average being 25. That's not accidental, that's how our high intensity defense operates.

And we just widened that gap even more on Saturday. It's not luck anymore.

bruh. you're making my point for me. not exactly a lot of field to build up yardage? how about "not exactly a lot of field before you get points"?

My point wasn't a yardage comparison. I'd gladly lose the yardage battle every game if it meant I wont the scoreboard. My point was that having fields of 17, 18, 26, and 31 yards led to a boatload (24) points. Credit Ole Miss for capitalizing, but a lot of team would get the brakes beat off them if they gave a team that type of opportunity. It's also to Bama's credit (unless you want to say that it's b/c Ole Miss isn't good at closing out games) that they were able to make it a one score game with 2 chances to score a winning TD in the final 3 minutes.

Again, if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.

You're taking away two fifty-plus touchdown passes, one of which was a designed play?

Don't get mad because your shitty defensive back did exactly what we wanted him to do. Oh, and if that play was so flukish, how come it isn't the first time it has been run on your defense? Hell, it wasn't even that long ago either.

You ran 100+ plays and kept the ball for 35 minutes. I'd hope you could wear any defense down holding the ball for that long.

fricking excuse making bitch.

23-17(10)
43-37

Get the fricking frick out of here.

Nope.

Bama beat themselves.

Coker getting smashed by Haynes because of poor blocking leading him to throw a meatball to Tony Bridges was merely another case of Alabama beating themselves.
