That is part of it I'm sure. With UL facing major sanctions and Pearl's history with the NCAA it does make things challenging. That said he's happy at AU and unless something drastic changes I don't see him leaving.

I could see Pearl's interest in Louisville, but would be surprised if Louisville would truly go after him that hard given his past NCAA dalliances, and their own issues with previous coaches. But you never know.

I don’t think it will happen but Louisville media members are all over the place rn, they’re all speculating. The timing doesn’t bode well even if they did want pearl tho. Pearl obviously isn’t gonna leave auburn mid season so it just gives the Auburn admin the rest of the season to get an extension, they’re not rushed unlike if it were the off-season.

Aubiecat, I’m well aware of that. That is just one of the reasons they will not offer Pearl the job.

Scared to answer? Yes, Auburn took a chance on Bruce 9 years ago when many teams wouldn’t. Why wouldn’t they? AU bball was a perennial bottom dweller. Now, AU bball is #1. The gamble paid off in spades. It’s time to move on from that butt whoopin you took in the ncaa. Let it go!
