Brent Rooker on pace to win the SEC triple crown

Over halfway through the season Mississippi State's Brent Rooker leads the SEC in almost every offensive category and Leads in HR, RBI, and BA.

Batting Average
1st- .436 (second closest in SEC is 47 points behind him) 4th in the nation

Slugging
1st- .949 (Second closet in SEC .653) LEADS the NATION

On Base Percentage
1st- .524

Hits
1st- 51 Second in the nation.

RBI
1st- 50 (second closest in SEC has 35) Leads the Nation

Doubles
1st- 18 Leads the nation

Home Runs
1st- 12 3rd in the nation

Total Bases
1st- 111 (next closest is 81) Leads the Nation

Stolen Bases
1st- 14

This is National Player of they year type of stats and if he continues to hit HRs he could be in line for the national triple crown.

Those are some amazing numbers for the half-way point of the season. He has made big jumps in numbers every season.

What type of defensive player is he in the outfield?

He actually has been moved to first base and made a game saving play last saturday vs Ole Miss to help us clinch the series sweep

me and my wife were watching a game the other night and I asked her why people were still pitching to him.

Thanks. You don't see many first basemen stealing bases at that clip. The kid will be one to watch in the big leagues.

We didn't have Keegan Thompson last year and it wasn't Casey Mize because he had a good outing against y'all

Up until last weekend if Roooker had runners on base he couldn't hit anything it seemed

He made a wise decision to come back. Just judging based on the series against us, he seems to be locked in. Felt like anything he hit was hit hard. Think he probably has more doubles and home runs than our entire team.
