Kevin Sumlin is still your head coach. John Chavis still coaches (if you can call it that) your defense. You still haven't beaten LSU in football since anyone here can remember.

Also, your baseball program is irrelevant on the national stage.

All this bad stuff for you and you take solace that you beat a Johhny Jones coached basketball team.

There's is no "national" stage for college baseball.

Even in the southeast and out west where the sport is most successful only a miniscule handful of people could care less whether college baseball exists or not

Louisiana is an anomaly due to the success of its only major university. Even with LSU fans I'd bet only a very small number follow closely enough to know the names of more than one current player.

I could interview 100 random people around Birmingham or Atlanta and would be shocked if more than 5/100 could tell me that the CWS is in Omaha. And I wouldn't be surprised if 0/100 couldn't tell me literally one single other thing about college baseball

Sure there is it may just be a smaller stage than football or basketball.

If it makes you feel better we could pair it down to the restrictive environment of the SEC Rant stage.

At the SEC level it is clear to me that baseball is more relevant than basketball. The only team that really tries is UK. I mean they are the only school that hires the great coaches hire after hire and gets the top recruits year after year. If the rest of the SEC cared, it occurs to me, there is enough money for everyone to basically do what UK does. Sure it would take time....but no one is even attempting it. Hell UF, with Donovan, was on the cusp of getting there and they were even like "F It, it's not worth it".
