That would be true if CBJ were an older coach who'd been at a program for a while and wasn't building up a program after inheriting the worst roster in the league or coming off of years of futility but that's not the case here. It will be a disappointment if we don't reach Atlanta this season but it's hardly a fireable offense, especially since we've gotten better every single year under CBJ.
The reality is that we've been down a long time and we're just now at the point where we can compete. Firing the guy who has made us better every year and gotten us back to this point if he doesn't make it to Atlanta on his first legit try is stupid.
